19th to early 20th- century Scottish basket hilt broadsword with original scabbard blade etched and signed Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London with the appointment letter’s to his Majesty the Prince of Wales serial number12644 on back of blade at hilt. Etched on reverse with Eagle facing left surrounded by a buckler style belt which is etched on its interior “Dominus Providebit” with the initials J.A.M.V. The blade is in very goodcondition and the hilt and scabbard are also very good. The sharkskin wrap on the handle is fine to excellent and some newer red felt was added to protect knuckles which is easily removed. A very attractive basket hilt thatshould be researched to Regiment and Wilkinson may have information on this serial number. Est.: $1,250-$2,500.
