19th. century white-celadon jade carving in shape of a lotus leaf carying on the obverse side a central leaping fish out of the ocean water, sided by 2 unicorns. The reverse side has a yellowish tint due to the fact that was carved in the jade boulder's skin. This is a flawless, large jade carving originating from the collection of Nathan Ancell, the founder of the Ethan Allen furniture stores. The carving has a custom made wood pedestal. Length: 9.4" (24 cm.). Width: 5.5" (14 cm.). Estimated value: $5.000.
