19th century miniature canon for salute and noise-making purposes. The tube is cast brass, hand stamped C. F. Jones, Omaha, marked on right side of breech, Colombia, 1893. The tube measures approx. 11-3/4”, andis of heavy construction with an iron mounted latch and breech swivels up to accept a 12ga blank shell. The noisemaker is fired by lanyard pull, with a trip-trigger and hammer type arrangement. The wheels and carriage are cast-iron, condition is very good plus. Safety Warning! Only use black-powder in these old canon, and do not use your foot to hold them down! They are meant to be sand-bagged. Small Winchester canons of thissize have broken hundreds of legs.
