19th century Middle Eastern flintlock dag or blunderbuss with ornately carved stock and silver inlaid barrel with silver wire trim in wood. The blunderbuss measures 20” overall with 12” barrel that flares to nearly 2inches across its muzzle. The metal surfaces have been lightly cleaned but not rubbed out and are still fairly crisp. Stock shows good quality carving and is in good condition with a couple of minor cracks, compressions, andsmall losses at the edges. There are no visible makers marks or proofs and many of these ornate little dags of this style were made in France as trade items and gifts to important chieftains in the Mideast. Thesilver is very nicely inlaid in high relief on the barrel and much better quality than normally found. Absolutely a genuine antique. Est.: $750-$1500
