19th-century European air-gun, signed in silver on barrel “Ernst Bischoff in Augsburg”. .32 rifle barrel, classic German full stock. Wood trigger guard. Lightly engraved iron side-plates, target type peepsight. The quality of the rifle is very good. The wrist is nicely checkered. The stock shows a good select grain. The metal surfaces are a smooth grey patina, just normal aging. The stocks are very good plus with a fewscratches and mars. The rifle is equipped with double set triggers and generally very good overall. The cocking device is actuated through the buttstock with a cocking handle which is not included. The barrel tilts upfor loading at the breech. 19th century airguns are scarce and desirable to collectors. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
