19th century English pistol case showing veneered mahogany exterior with brass carrying ring in lid and brass hook type latches with all original hardware and hinges. This case originally contained a pair of flintlock or early percussion pistols. The case measures 16” in width by 9” and approximately 3” in height. The interior has been relined in a blue cotton type velvet which in itself is old but not the originallining. The exterior of the case is in good condition showing an old repair to the back of the lid. These antique gun boxes are hard to find when you need them for a restoration and this box would take a pair pistolsapproximately 14 ¼” or less overall. Est.: $250-$500.
