This is an impressive late-19th-century Apache antler fighting belt knife and harness leather sheath. The sheath exhibits brass bullet casings, a unique solid copper "V" shaped plate along the top front of the harness saddle trade leather sheath. In addition to the solid copper front panel the sheath a metal backing and bottom tip. The thick commerical harness leath belt sheath also has two stamped button rivets marked "CRESCENT REG. D." The knife itself shows a thick metal clip point fighting or skinning utility blade with solid brass / copper guard and carved antler handle having a slight green dyed coloring in a few spots. Together the set measures 13.25-inches long, sheath by itself is 12 1/8-inches long by 3 7/8-inches wide, knife is 10-inches long.
