TOTALLY UNIQUE! If you love the sea, or sailor art, or a small, intimate oil, you will love this amazing piece !</em></td>

<tr>
<td width="100%">
EXTRAORDINARY example of 19th c. English sailor art to pass
the time on shipboard. The oil on parchment painting is of Mont
St. Michel, France. The sailor/artist painted the picture on the
back of a document of indenture and then fitted it into the
frame
of an old tamborine, complete with jingles. CONDITION:
very good. Diameter: 8" . The artist must have been trained as
an oil painter. The choppy waters, the rowboat going ashore
with happy sailors, a buoy and other sailing ships in the
distance

add up to a fascinating painting.
