For bidding is a gorgeous 19th Century porcelain tankard form Limoges, France. The manufacturing of porcelain at Limoges was established by Turgot in 1771 following the discovery of local supplies of kaolin and a material similar to petuntse, near Limoges. The materials were quarried beginning in 1768. Limoges maintains the position it established in the 19th century as the premier manufacturing city of porcelain in France. This piece displays beautiful hand painted roses and gold trimming around the handle, rim and bottom of the tankard. Limoges and T&V France are painted on the bottom of the piece. Measures 15.5" x 8".
