The entire bed is adorned with breathtaking hand carvings on both sides and at both ends in a continual MasterPiece, so I am showing as many of the carvings as I can in the four photographs I am allowed in this listing.
This is a French Renaissance - Style Relief Carved Oak Canopy Tester Bed that was created as a twin bed. It Originates from the Normandy area of France. The posts are representative of the Elizabethan era, the carvings are Classical, Victorian and Louis XIV. Fragments of the bright red fabric are still attached to canopy. This bed is believed to have been in possession of high importance; The initials of HH are carved within the North Wind but who exactly was HH is not known at this point. I am in the process of researching Historical Records. Notice Baby "Pan" rolling the wine barrel and the Lion behind. The mane of the Lion is just incredible. This is a rare and magnificent bed. Bed is currently unassembled and being kept in a climate control room. Serious Enquiries Please.
