Pair of 19th century French framed tapestries depict a parlor room setting in one with a woman playing the piano,a man the violin, for the enjoyment of two male guests. All dressed in costume of the day with ornate surroundings. The other shows a servant announcing a caller to a royal family (mother with child seated on her lap and father) who is bowing in greeting to the male royal member. Both in antique cream background with brown highlights and hints of rose and blue woven in the tapestry. The wood frames have ornate outer lip in antique gold,plain antique gold inner lip with middle 1/2 inch in marbleized blue and rose pattern. Both in excellent condition,original nails in back. Measure 21H X 14L X 1D.
