This late 19th century English ironstone milk pitcher has a flow blue and impressed cow design. This design is on both sides of the pitcher! The cow is standing contentedly among flowers under an overhanging tree.

The pitcher is 6 1/2 inches tall and is 5 inches across the top. It measures 7 5/8 inches from the edge of the lip to the end of the handle. It is 5 1/2 inches wide and has nearly a 4 1/2-inch base.

The flow blue extends over most of the exterior of the pitcher. The interior of the pitcher is white. The base of the pitcher is white and bears the mark "Ironstone England 1890".

The pitcher is in near mint condition for its age. The glaze shows some manufacturing imperfections characteristic for its time.

This will make a fabulous addition to a Flow Blue Ironstone collection!

Flow blue pottery often was made from ironstone--some with raised decorations. Many pieces ...
