This is a truly stunning beaded Indian hide fighting knife sheath from the Eastern Woodlands dating to the 19th-century. The sheath exhibits artistic whimsical geometric beadwork done in period 1800's glass trade seed beads. The sheath is comprised of trade clothe and Indian tanned hide with trade thread sewing. The beads show colors of greasy yellow, lilac, black, greasy butterscotch yellow, Cheyenne pink, greasy light blue, green and chalk white. The belt strap on the back has a nice zig-zag saw tooth cut edge. This is truly a stunning fighting knife or dagger sheath. Measures overall 9-inches long by 2.75-inches wide.
