This is an original 19th Century image of two Southeastern Idaho Shoshone Native American Indian Warriors from from Danish-American artist Benedicte Wrensted born in 1859 and died in 1949. The photograph features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sepia toned construction that shows two Native American men in ceremonial dress with a peace pipe and fully beaded and feathered clothing. The artist signature is at the bottom of the display with the area of creation of Pocatello, Idaho. Benedicte Marie Wrensted (February 10, 1859 – January 19, 1949) was a notable Danish-American photographer, who emigrated to the United States after running a studio for a few years in Horsens, Denmark. She was an obscure photographer who is most notably remembered for her documentation of the Northern Shoshone, Lemhi, and Bannock tribes in Idaho between 1895-1912. The condition of this framed original photograph shows well preserved stature that shows some wear ot the frame of the photograph but otherwise shows no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this framed photograph is 9 3/8" x 7 5/8" and the visible photograph is 5 3/8" x 3 3/4".
