This is a great set of 19th-century Indian hide beaded men's moccasins with hard sole bottoms from the Northern Cheyenne. The set is comprised of Indian tanned hide which is sinew sewn and has thick rawhide parfleche hard sole bottoms as well as red trade clothe on the ankle. The tops are covered in sinew sewn 1800's glass trade seed beads in a stepped or serrated triangle geometric pattern. The set shows colors of chalk white, light blue, red, cobalt. There is little bead loss, being mostly present and various strands of sinew visible, an early beadwork feature. The moccasins have a hard sole rawhide bottoms with foot worn patina pattern and the entire set shows mostly supple hide with little damage and are well kept. Each moccasin measures 10.5-inches long by 4-inches wide by 4-inches high at the ankle.
