These little containers are so charming with the hand painted enameling, done in both England and Bohemia during the 19th century, and this design looks more Bohemian. The glass is clear and the container is a rounded rectangular shape. The four vertical corner edges have raised half rounds in the glass, the sides are smooth and decorated with thin, gold leaves, and on the front and reverse are green leaves. pink sprigs, and white, orange, and ivory flowers. There is gilt on the stopper and bottle bottom. These are commonly known as Oxford Lavenders for those made in Oxfordshire, England, attars, and throwaways. These are selling for a lot of money now, while over 100 years ago were priced as novelties! The dainty, tiny stopper is ground and is broken off at 7/8;" the perfume chamber is a long thin shape flared at both ends - so much glass and work for such a tiny capacity! Otherwise, some slight wear to gilt; no cracks, breaks, or chips...so cute for something meant to discard! Dimensions: 7-5/16" long overall; 3/4 x 9/16 shape.
