This is a large format original photograph from the late-19th Century of one of the Crane cowboy family members from the Crane Ranch in Stonewall, Colorado. The image shows a Crane family member cowboy with his horse with nice high back 19th Century saddle. The back is marked, “STONEWALL COLORADO CRANE RANCH”. The Crane family had a homestead in Stonewall, Colorado, with an image of the family dating to circa 1892 be documented online showing father William Albert Crane, his wife Inez Rilla Osborn Crane, and their sones Roy Bertram Crane and Guy Howard Crane. This could possibly be one of these family members. There is a historic “Early Pioneers Cemetery” or Crane Cemetery still located in Stonewall, Las Animas County, Colorado today. The large format albumen silver gelatin photograph is on a boudoir card and shows a clear image of the early Homesteading, Frontier Cowboy. Some slight corner damage, but overall well kept piece.
