Featured in this lot is this western saddle from Charles Lyman Saddlery c. 19th century. The saddle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted leather construction that shows great care to the tooling of floral decorations to the skirt and fenders of the saddle and shows a unique seat design with a high back seat and high port thin swells and shows a rawhide wrapped horn with a leather attachment with the front of the horn exposed from the front. The saddle comes complete with a rifle scabbard attached to the right side of the saddle. The saddle is marked with makers marks that reads as follows: C.L. Haskell - Maker - 511 Market St. - S.F.C. Charles Lyman Haskell is a well known harness and saddle maker out of San Francisco and sported shops on No. 10 Bush street and Market street. The condition of this saddle is good with a heavy patina due to the age of this saddle and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this saddle are 37" x 23 1/2" x 16 1/2" and the seat size is 14".
