Exceptional New York Engraved Smith & Wesson 1st Model .38 canter fire single action revolver attributed to L.D. Nimschke’s shop, S/N 36605 with standard 3 ¼” barrel, nickel finish, and authentic to the period ivorygrips. This revolver shows tight and well detailed Germanic scrolls with typical L.D.N. ropes and borders. The pistol remains in near fine condition with 95%+ original nickel, sharp address and crisp edges. Someminor aging on the front of the cylinder. The grips are near fine with pleasing yellow patina and slight aging with impeccable fit. The hammer and small parts show generous amounts of original finish. The action istight. A strong 9 on a 1-10 scaler. (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000
