Custer range U.S. Springfield 1873 First Model Trapdoor saddle ring carbine, .45-70 caliber, 22” barrel, blued finish, wood stock, S/N 18318; very good + condition with plum brown patina, crisp action, very goodmarkings, correct sights, arched breech block, great inspector’s cartouche, good wood with solid butt plate and cut out in back of wood butt stock for cleaning rod. This number should be further researched given its position in the Custer range of trapdoor carbines. (Antique). Est.: $3,500-$7,000.
