Fabulous antique 930 Dutch silver openwork food server set with an old coin in the handle. Made in the Netherlands ( Holland ) 19th century and imported to London, England, with both Dutch and English hallmarks for the 19th century.

Measures 6 inches long and weighs 60 grams.

Wavy border with gentle scalloped sides. Great openwork highlighted with very fine engraved detail and highlights. BIrds, flowers and scrolling foliage in the bowl. The handle has two moulded mardinieres of flowers and leads to an old silver coin set within a dramatic folded frame.

The bowl is hallmarked with a large 930 which is the standard of silver better than sterling. A line of smaller hallmarks show a maker's mark LL, lion, Q, F, and leopard head, which indicates that it was imported to London.

Good condition with slight wear to the jardiniere on the handle, where it would have been commonly held.

Ideal for serving fruit, vegetables or other food, especially items that need to drip juice or gravy.

Note: Q in shield shape is 1891 and F is 1881.
