Cased pair of French Dueling Target Pistols signed in gold “Zaque A Marseille” on barrels with 10” octagon barrels of .48 caliber rifled. Measures 16 ¾” overall with fluted and carved light colored walnut stocks. Engraved locks and mounts showing traces of subtle case hardening and browned barrels. Very good condition with some slight pitting on barrels and minor wear to stocks. The actions are crisp and work well. In an unusual but utilitarian carved wood fitted case with mold, combo tool, mallet, rods and caps. The exterior of the case is oak with simple brass carry handle and hook style latches and key plate. The lid is warped and the box is somewhat scratched and aged. A good set by a more “Rural” French maker. (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000
