<B>1999-W<G$10> Quarter-Ounce Gold Eagle--Unfinished Proof Dies--MS69 PCGS.</B></I> In 1999, the West Point mintmark was intended to reside only on proof bullion coins, with the exception of the 1999-W George Washington half eagle. Apparently, an American Gold Eagle ten dollar obverse die with the W mintmark went down the wrong path, and struck business strikes without reflective fields or frosted devices. This example is perfect aside from a small reverse strike-through at 6 o'clock.
