<B>1998 Steve Young Game Worn Jersey.</B></I> This representation from late in Steve Young's career is his San Francisco 49'ers home game jersey used in the preseason of 1998 and the team's opener, a thrilling 36-30 overtime win over the Jets on September 6. The jersey is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Young's MOS Sports Inc. on the signing and inscribing of the gamer. The jersey body is a maroon, highly shined mesh in its entirety, save for the stretch ribbed cotton V-neck with the NFL shield at its base. In customary fashion for Young, the sleeves are cut and hemmed just below the top stripe, cutting into the "SF" interlocking logos. The Reebok logos are sewn above the top stripe on each sleeve as was apropos. The numeric identifiers "8" are sewn on in triple color drop shadow tackle twill. The name on back resides on a mesh plate in two-color, sewn on, plain block font. The interior collar houses the proper "Reebok [size] 44" label with "100% Nylon Pro -2"" flap tag. A second label in the tail offers logos of the NFL, the 49'ers and Reebok, with "1998" year code. The jersey shows solid quarterback wear with loose threading, minor surface abrasions and a major repair to the rear numeral. Perfect black sharpie inscription on verso reads, "My best to you always, Steve Young, Jets 9/6/98, 36-30." <I>LOA from Lou Lampson. LOA from PSA/DNA.</B></I>
