Official 36? x 60? American flag flown over the United States Capitol on September 6, 1995, in recognition of Cal Ripken, Jr.'s record-breaking 2,131st consecutive game, at the request of Maryland Congressman Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the architect of the Capitol, in part: "This flag was flown for Cal Ripken, Jr. in special recognition of his 2131st consecutive game played on September 6, 1995." Known as baseball's 'Iron Man,' Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's fabled streak in what became one of Major League Baseball's most memorable moments. Ripken continued the iconic streak for three more years before voluntarily ending it at 2,632 games in 1998.
