1992-d Olympics Modern Commem Dollar $1 Graded ms70, Perfection By USCG. The 1992 Olympic Silver Dollar was issued along with separate gold and Half Dollar coins for the 1992 Olympic Games. The commemorative coin issues were used to raise money to train American athletes. As a side note, when the commemorative was released there was a bit of controversy as the image on the Obverse bears a striking resemblance to the Fleer baseball card depicting Nolan Ryan. In fact it is virtually identical. The mint has always claimed that the design which was selected from 1,107 entries, by regular citizens, was a composite of a generic ballplayer drawn by freelance illustrator John R. Deecken. That being said, It's Nolan Ryan. This example has been graded ms70 by USCG.
