1992 Michael Jordan Summer Olympics Game Worn Jersey. A 1989 FIBA rule change paved the way for professional athletes to participate in the historically amateur-only Olympic Games, giving rise to a force considered by many experts to be the finest ever to share the hardwood. Of the twelve men on the roster, only two failed to find inclusion within the 1997 class of the NBA's Fifty Greatest Players. With Robinson, Malone, Bird, Jordan and Johnson starting, and Barley, Ewing, Pippen, Drexler and Stockton coming off the bench, the Americans absolutely overwhelmed the rest of the basketball world, averaging a forty-four point margin of victory en route to the Gold. If there was one top star amidst this exceptional constellation, it was Michael Jordan, who put up a team-leading twenty-two points in the Final game against Croatia. It is noteworthy that the United States wore white in the 117-85 victory over the Croats, suggesting the strong possibility that this is the very jersey Jordan was wearing when he earned his second Olympic Gold Medal. The simple stylings of the shirt feature screened identifiers, with "USA Basketball 9" on chest, and "Jordan 9" on verso. Special tagging in tail announces, "Champion, USA Basketball, Designed and Tailored Exclusively for 1992 Summer Olympic Games," and "Champion size 48." Wear is appropriately light for tournament (rather than full season) use. A black sharpie signature on the rear numeral bears an Upper Deck authenticating sticker with matching paperwork

Exceptional provenance is likewise supplied, with a 1993 letter (complete with postmarked envelope) from "Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of North Carolina, Inc." which states, "To Whom It May Concern: This letter is to verify that Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of North Carolina, did, in fact, receive a Michael Jordan Authentic White 1992 Summer Olympics Game used Jersey. The jersey was purchased from us by Ron Marth for $19,500." A photocopy of a June 15, 1993 "The News Observer" newspaper article recounts the auction, and the $19,500 winning bid. LOA from Lou Lampson. COA from UDA (autograph).
