1990 Richard Nixon Handwritten Letter to Phil Ri
1990 Richard Nixon Handwritten Letter to Phil Rizzuto. "I don't know a lot about politics," President Nixon was once quoted as saying, "but I do know a lot about baseball." Battling only our current Commander in Chief for recognition as the greatest baseball supporter ever to occupy the White House, Nixon sent this handwritten letter of support to Phil Rizzuto, letting Scooter know that he thought he had earned his bronze plaque. "If the Old Timers committee doesn't vote you into the Hall of Fame I will lose my faith in the integrity of the Cooperstown process," he writes, in part. The single handwritten page on Nixon's personal letterhead is signed simply "R.N." Both the blue ink and the page itself remain in flawless condition, with original mailing folds. From the personal collection of Phil Rizzuto, with a letter of provenance from his widow Cora. LOA from PSA/DNA.
