Originally used for half dollars from 1916 to 1947, the obverse features Lady Liberty draped in the American flag, striding toward the sunrise while carrying laurel and oak branches. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, depicts a heraldic eagle with a shield, arrows, and olive branch, along with thirteen stars above representing the original colonies. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, and 1 OZ FINE SILVER. Metal Content: Contains one troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
