<B>1990<1C> No S--Environmental Damage--NCS. Proof.</B></I> Those who scoff at a complete collection of proof Lincoln Memorial cents have not tried to obtain the rare 1990 No S proof. This stopper to a complete set is the only such No S cent issue, although several proof dime issues (and a 1971 No S nickel) were incorrectly produced without mintmarks. Many 1990 No S cents were left in their mint holders, which tended to trap moisture when stored in humid environments. The present piece has moderate aqua verdigris at the borders, less extensive than sometimes encountered on this rare issue. Fully struck and flashy with dramatic cameo contrast.
