1988 Signed Print Reinhard Hardegen
1988 Signed Print Reinhard Hardegen. Reinhard Hardegen was the commander of U-123 and the 24th most successful submarine commander. U-123 would make lengthy patrols and eventually claim over 20 ships sunk. U-123 would make two patrols into American waters and managed to return home both times. Hardegen was awarded the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves on April 23, 1942 for his actions as the commander of U-123. This print has a picture of Hardegen in uniform with the Knights Cross and a wound badge above his head. Below the picture is the medal he received, his signature, and his rank while he was in the Kreigsmarine. Signature is clear and distinct, and the lettering is clear and legible. The picture is clear and unfaded. Bottom edge of print is worn and slightly stained. Good condition. From the Michael Clifton collection.
