1987 Sandy Koufax Dodger Stadium Silver Annivers
1987 Sandy Koufax Dodger Stadium Silver Anniversary Ring. The rocket-armed lefty is considered by many to be the most dominant pitcher of his age, posting microscopic ERA's that were the National League-best each season between 1962 and 1966, when he hung up his spikes at the top of his game. This era of dominance coincided exactly with the debut of Dodger Stadium, which celebrated its twenty-fifth birthday with presentational rings for a cast of Old Timers on hand for the festivities. A letter from our consignor, who was in the employ of the company tapped to create the rings, states, "When Sandy Koufax stopped by my station and was signing the baseballs, I asked him to let me measure his finger for the ring. At that time he said 'you keep the ring, I have more than enough rings.' That is how I came to own the ring." The simple design features a blue enamel face applied to white metal, with "Los Angeles Dodgers" ringing the perimeter of the face and "Koufax Dodgers 32" engraved at left shank. Right shank features a miniature Dodger Stadium. Size 10.5. No Koufax Championship rings have ever surfaced in the hobby, and there is no reason to expect that any ever will. As such, this may be the only Koufax ring presented by the Dodgers ever to find its way to the auction block.

Shipping: Miscellaneous Collectibles, Smal (view shipping information)
