United States Mint 1987 American Silver Eagle one dollar coin, certified and encapsulated by NGC with a grade of Mint State 69 (MS 69). The obverse features the Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman, originally used on the half dollar from 1916 to 1947. This full-length depiction of Liberty shows her striding confidently toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle behind a shield, designed by John Mercanti, symbolizing strength and patriotism. The eagle holds an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left, with a banner in its beak bearing the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum. Above the eagle are thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The coin is struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and has a face value of one dollar. Encapsulation by NGC provides protection and authenticity for this nearly flawless Mint State example. Slab: 2.25"L x 0.5"W x 3.25"H. Coin diameter: 39mm.
