1984 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging
1984 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging. The 1984 Mint Set reintroduced the product for collectors, following the absence of the sets in 1982 and 1983. Starting this year, the outer envelopes would feature colorful illustrations or images that would change each year of offering. This was a change from the plain white envelopes that had been used for the Mint Sets of the past two decades. There were a total of ten coins with a face value of $1.82 included in each 1984 Mint Set. The coins included the 1984-P&D Kennedy Half Dollars, P&D Washington Quarters, P&D Roosevelt Dimes, P&D Jefferson Nickels, and P&D Lincoln Cents. Also included were two mint tokens from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The 1984 Mint Set packaging had upper dark brown and lower light brown colors separated by red, white, and blue. The outside of the envelope had printing “1984 Uncirculated Coin Set”, “United States Mint”, and the mint marks “D” and “P”.
