Framed print of Pablo Picasso’s “La Ronde de la Jeunesse” (The Circle of Youth) 1961 lithograph used as Olympiad promotional artwork for the 1984 Olympiad.

The 1984 Summer Olympics was preceded by the 10-week-long adjunct Los Angeles Olympic Arts Festival, which opened on June 2nd and ended on August 12. It provided more than 400 performances by 146 theater, dance and music companies, representing every continent and 18 countries. It was organized by then-CalArts President Robert Fitzpatrick.

This item contains a smaller version of La Ronde de la Jeunesse used on the front of the 1984 Olympics program- personally signed “To Barry, Best wishes to you, Robert Fitzpatrick." Barry Levy was an Olympics Organizing Committee member who ran the torch relay in three different Olympics.

Professionally framed on painted blue frame.

Robert Fitzpatrick (born 1940) is an Irish-American art academic and executive, entrepreneur, and politician.

Condition: Mint. Frame is in great condition with one small scuff. Backing paper has a few tears on the top.
