1982 1C Large Date Lincoln Cent--Double Struck on an 84% Silver, 16% Copper Planchet--MS64 Brown NGC. 2.4 gm. NGC has certified this spectacular piece as a flipover double strike, but it is instead a rotated double strike. The two strikes are separated by nearly 180 degrees. A faint inverted LIBERTY is present near 3 o'clock from the first impression, and the N in CENT emerges beneath the D in UNITED. Uncentered slightly toward 9 o'clock. In 1981 and 1982, the United States struck coins for Panama and the Dominican Republic, but none of those pieces were in silver alloy. Perhaps a mistake was made by a private cent blank provider.
From The Pacific Coast Mint Error Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
