<B>1981-S 50C Type Two PR70 Deep Cameo PCGS.</B></I> The replacement mintmark punch introduced in 1979 by 1981 was itself turning out mintmarks that, according to Breen, yielded "S's like 8's," and a second new punch was made that featured an "open S with round serifs free of middle stroke." These later Type Two S-mintmarked Kennedys apparently constitute about one-tenth the number of Type One pieces produced. PCGS as of (10/07) has certified only 24 pieces in PR70 Deep Cameo. The looking-glass fields are well-mirrored, and the devices drip with icy mint frost on the present piece.
