The 1980 commemorative silver dollar marked the centenary of the transfer of the Arctic Islands from the British Government to the government of the Dominion of Canada.
In 1880, the British government officially transferred its remaining territories in the Arctic to the Canadian government. The long list included all the islands adjacent to any territories, regardless if they were reached or otherwise. Commemorate this momentous event with this 1980 Transfer of Arctic Islands to Canada Specimen Silver Dollar Coin. The coin comes with a reverse design that depicts a polar bear in its natural habitat: the Arctic.

We ship through Canada Post, which means we only ship within the parameters of their dimensions & weight. Anything won in our auctions above and beyond that will be forfeited.
