<B>1979-S 50C Type Two PR70 Deep Cameo PCGS.</B></I> By 1979 the old S mintmark punch for proof Kennedys was producing only mushy blobs, and accordingly the Mint introduced a new punch with a clear S, used on a small percentage of 1979-S (Type Two) and all 1980-S coinage. Type Two Kennedys in the unimprovable PR70 Deep Cameo grade are elusive, and one of several issues in the later clad proof half dollar series that have turned out to be keys to a complete set. This piece shows remarkably reflective jet-black fields, with exceptional silvery mint frost covering the devices.
