<B>1975-76 Artis Gilmore ABA/NBA Tour of Japan Game Worn Warm-Up Jacket.</B></I> Widely considered to be one of the most glaring omissions from the Basketball Hall of Fame, the seven-foot two Gilmore was among the most recognizable figures of the American Basketball Association and the first overall pick in the 1976 dispersal draft that scattered the league to the NBA wind. Here we present a relic from a rare partnership between these rival leagues, a gorgeous satin jacket worn by Gilmore as part of a Japanese tour with the ABA and NBA's dual sponsorship. The striking garment offers the logos of each league in the form of large patches on the chest with the words "Descente Basketball," a nod to the jacket's manufacturer. Japanese characters and the Descente logo appear on verso. A "Descente" collar tag in the short-sleeved, snap-front jacket bears a vintage handwritten "Gilmore" notation. Light wear is evident, and the jacket presents in fantastic, undamaged condition.
