This car was professionally appraised in August 2020 with a depreciated replacement value of $160,000 assessed. The following comments were added by the appraiser:
My visual inspection of the vehicle revealed the body to be in fine condition. The custom 9-colour, one-of-a-kind paint job with custom airbrush features is in fine condition. The trim is in fine condition and the interior is in very good to good condition but, is dated and is holding back this custom Camaro. Overall, this vehicle is in fine to very good condition. The value does reflect that this vehicle was custom built in the late 1980’s to the standards of that period, along with the Joey’s Place restoration work and custom one-of-a-kind paint job, with custom airbrush work, which is still flawless today, and the performance driveline. Like it or hate it, this one of a kind custom 1974 Camaro Z28 stands out from all others and truly represents the late 1980’s custom show car culture time-period and needs to be preserved as it is a time capsule representation of the era. In a total loss situation, the current cost to buy a project car, and recondition it to the body standard of the subject vehicle with the restoration done by Joey’s Place and have them recreate the custom paint job and use the same old school driveline and suspension, would cost between approximately $215,000-230,000
