From the Nick and Suzanne Nicholas Collection we have a 1973 Apache Nossman Vigil ''Hoop Dancer'' Print, measures 19.5''H x 15.5''W, nicely framed, painting depicts Native hoop dancer in a feathered roach headdress dressed in blue dance kilt, sash, leg bands and ankle wrap jingles, artist's initials and feather hallmark in lower righthand corner, Nossman Vigil was born in 1926 on the Jicarilla Apache Reservation, New Mexico near the town of Dulce. He received an award for the Jicarilla Apache Seal design used during the 1987 Centennial Celebration. The Vigils come from a long line of artists. like their father, Nossman and his brother used a wide variety of mediums including watercolor, pen and ink, acrylic, and more to continually experiment with different styles and compositions.
