<B>1972 Steve Prefontaine Signed Banquet Program.</B></I> Once the American record holder in every distance event from 2,000 to 10,000 meters, the Oregon track superstar was months from an appearance in the 1972 Summer Olympic Games when he attended the "24th Annual Bill Hayward Banquet of Champions" in his home state. Arguably the most famous distance runner of all time, Pre's tragic early death in 1975 has only added to his legend, and has made quality examples of his signature a tough and coveted commodity. Here we present a fine example, personalized "To Bob" on the cover of this banquet program. A personalized signature from Nebraska Cornhuskers football coach Bob Devaney is here as well. Each rates 9+/10 in strength. The program appears to be in perfect condition, and is matted and framed to final dimensions of 13.5x17". <I>LOA from PSA/DNA.
