<B>1972 $1 Type Three Eisenhower Dollar--Reverse 35% Clad Layer Split, #1--AU58 PCGS,</B></I> and an <B>Undated Eisenhower Dollar--Reverse 35% Clad Layer Split, #2--MS62 PCGS.</B></I> Mated pair clad layer lamination errors are rare on any denomination, and are very rare on Eisenhower Dollars, which were produced in limited quantity for only eight years. About one-third of the reverse clad layer broke off after the strike, between 1 and 4:30, perhaps due to improper bonding between the reverse clad layer and the copper core.
