<B>1970's Satchel Paige Single Signed Baseball, PSA NM-MT 8.</B></I> "I ain't ever had a job," the Hall of Fame pitcher once claimed, "I just always played baseball." And it certainly was a profession he practiced his entire life, getting his professional start in the 1920's, and striking out his last batter in a single scoreless inning of work for the 1965 Kansas City Athletics at his professed age of fifty-eight. Perhaps the greatest pitcher ever developed by the Negro Leagues, Paige applied his wonderfully bold black ink signature to the side panel of an "Official League" ball late in his life. While a NM-MT rating for such a desirable ball is surely cause for celebration, we frankly can't help but think the grade is a bit on the stingy side.
