1969 Gil Hodges Game Worn Jacket. Originally acquired directly from the family of the beloved Brooklyn Dodgers player and New York Mets manager, this blue wool jacket was on hand during that Amazin' Autumn when the Mets became Champions of the World. It is possible that this jacket had a few owners before Hodges, as these durable uniform pieces were typically handed down year after year, though authenticator Lou Lampson notes that the tagging style dates to the 1962-67 era, leaving open the strong chance that Hodges was issued the jacket as a player that first hopeless season at the Polo Grounds. The design is pure vintage Mets, with the orange chenille interlocking "NY" over the heart and the team logo patch on the left sleeve. "MacGregor size 48" label inside has vintage number "14" penned to its surface. Wear is very strong, again leading to the conclusion that the jacket saw multiple seasons of use. Lowermost snap is missing, but jacket is otherwise solid, complete and undamaged. Letter of provenance from noted uniform expert attests to Hodges family derivation. LOA from Keith Vari. LOA from Lou Lampson.

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
