<B>1969-70 Luis Tiant Game Worn Fielder's Glove.</B></I> A nineteen-year veteran of the Major League pitching mound, the Cuban-born right-hander is remembered as one of the most colorful figures in Boston Red Sox history. Here we present a fielder's mitt used by the All-Star hurler just before joining the Fenway ranks, showing tremendous use from his days in Cleveland and Minnesota. Letters from both noted glove expert Joe Phillips and top Rawlings glove designer Bob Clevenhagen assert that the "Rawlings XFG-1" glove could only be a professional issue, as no store model gloves bearing Tiant's stamped facsimile signature (as this one does) were ever manufactured. Photographic documentation likewise finds identical gloves on Tiant's left hand. Fielder's gloves are typically the toughest of all equipment for collectors, as most players tend to use only one per season, and often for multiple seasons.
