<B>1969 & 1973 New York Mets Championship Black Bats.</B></I> Issued only to team members and VIP's, the coveted Championship black bat has been part of the spoils of war for decades of baseball history. Here we offer two bats slated for presentation to a member of the 1969 World Championship and 1973 National League Championship Mets, each still amazingly accompanied by the rarely seen congratulatory cards from Hillerich & Bradsby attached by blue ribbons. The earlier bat shows scattered patches of wear to the surface that does obscure a couple of names, VG. The later bat is much nicer, with no visible defects, NRMT. Along with the other black bats offered in this auction, these were sourced from a Hillerich & Bradsby insider.
