Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA AUTHENTIC ALTERED. Offered is a rare card, the second checklist for the 1968 Topps Plaks test issue, one of the rarest Topps test issues ever created. The plaks themselves were miniature plastic player busts issued three to a sprue, with the three player busts held together by small pieces of plastic, similar to how model airplanes at the time were distributed. While the set of 24 plaks were never actually distributed, test packs were produced, with one of two checklists in each pack. This second checklist lists players and images for plaks 13-24. This checklist reads #13 Hank Aaron, 14 Richie Allen, 15 Orlando Cepeda, 16 Roberto Clemente, 17 Tommy Davis, 18 Don Drysdale, 19 Willie Mays, 20 Tim McCarver, 21 Ron Santo, 22 Rusty Staub, 23 Pete Rose, and 24 Jim Wynn. While appearing to be in EX-MT condition, this example has a very light touch of black marker in the left hand corner, resulting in the PSA AUTHENTIC ALTERED designation. Still, this example represents a rare opportunity to obtain a test issue card from one of the most rare Topps test issues ever originated, the 1968 Topps plaks.
