<B>1968 St. Louis Cardinals Team Signed Baseball.</B></I> So dominating was Bob Gibson's pitching this season (1.12 ERA, unanimous vote for National League Cy Young Award) that most consider him the main factor that led to the lowering of the pitcher's mound the following season. After winning two World Series games, Gibson had an uncharacteristic stumble in the deciding Game Seven, forcing this powerhouse club to settle for just the National League flag. Twenty-four Senior Circuit Champs are here, most notably Gibson and an aging Roger Maris in his final season of Big League service.
